Woonona Surf Life Saving Club is a family club which promotes friendliness, co-operation and fairness. Our members come from all backgrounds and walks of life; from new members who have no prior experience with the surf but would like to learn surf skills, to experienced club members looking to return to surf life saving. Whatever your desire is in joining the Club, we welcome all new potential members. Members of our Club enjoy support in surf competion and top class facilities and equipment, as well as benefits such as hot showers, a gymnasium, reduced rates to hire the function centre and much more. To join during the summer season come down to the beach and introduce yourself to a member of the Club. They will be only too happy to arrange for you to meet a committee member who can answer any questions you may have and get you started. Membership Categories: Nippers Members aged 7 to 13 yrs are known as Junior Activities members or "nippers" and learn surf survival skills with an emphasis on fun. Rookies Members aged 13 and 14 yrs learn basic surf rescue skills. At 14 yrs they can begin training for the Bronze Medallion which they would obtain when they turn 15. The Bronze Medallion then qualifies them for surf patrol work. Active Seniors These are Bronze Medallion holders who carry out full patrol and Club obligations once they pass the annual proficiency test. Active Reserves This category is reserved for members who have completed at least 8 years of patrols and service with our Club. Associate Membership Associate members are those over 18 yrs of age and who do not have to do patrols. Life Membership This is for distinquished service to Woonona Surf Life Saving Club. These members are exempt from patrol obligations and fees.
